This seminar is open to veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary hospital staff, and veterinary students only.

Course Description

This lecture will discuss the cannabis plant and include a review of common cannabis terminology, provide a detailed explanation of the endocannabinoid system (all components), as well as a description of endocannabinoid deficiency. It will also review the components of the plant in detail including phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids; delve into some clinically relevant applications (supported by pertinent publications); and review dosing, delivery, product selection, potential toxicities, and contraindications.

Speaker

Trina Hazzah, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), CVCH

Dr. Hazzah attended Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and earned her DVM in 2006. She completed her small animal internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey and a three-year residency in medical oncology at the Veterinary Oncology and Hematology Center in Connecticut. She received her certification as a veterinary Chinese herbalist from the Chi Institute in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hazzah has given numerous lectures to veterinarians on the topic of cannabis medicine.

This course qualifies for 1.5 hours of interactive learning. Each paid registrant will be allowed access via one phone line and one log-in and will receive a certificate upon completion. When you register, a URL will be sent to the registered attendee email with login information on how to begin the webinar. CVMA reserves the right to invoice those individuals and/or organizations that are logged in or connected from telephone numbers that don’t correspond to a paid registration.
