He originally began working in the veterinary industry in 2002. In 2008, after passing both the California and VTNE Board Exams, he became a Registered Veterinary Technician. He began teaching shortly after obtaining his RVT License and has been teaching full time since 2013.

His experience in veterinary clinics comes mostly from Canyon Animal Hospital in Laguna Beach, where he worked under the direction of Dr. John Hamil and Dr. Gershon Alaluf. After working for a decade in veterinary clinics, he went on to become the Senior Trainer in the Claims Department for what was then Veterinary Pet Insurance, now Nationwide Insurance.

Philip considers himself a family man, a lifetime student, a veterinary professional dedicated to the betterment of the industry, and an advocate for advancements for Registered Veterinary Technicians. His interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, and theriogenology.

He currently lives in Rancho Santa Margarita with his wife, two children, and their bloodhound, Frankie. He also enjoys taking classes at the local college, golfing, spending time with his family, and watching his son play baseball.

She also greatly enjoys mentoring and supporting new vet techs and assistants and teaching them how to advocate for themselves and their patients. Eva is striving to elevate the vet tech field by advocating for high standards of medical care, greater technician utilization and title protection, and healthy, inclusive, professional workplace cultures.

Outside of her career, Eva enjoys reading, crafting, music, and camping.

Mandy serves as a Technician Learning and Development Specialist, bringing more than a decade of clinical and educational experience to her role. Prior to entering the veterinary profession, she served in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped her leadership style, clinical discipline, and commitment to teamwork.

Mandy has a strong professional interest in high-acuity critical care, with particular focus on distributive shock, polytrauma, cardiopulmonary disease, and neonatal and pediatric patients. She is a frequent national and international speaker and is the author of a peer-reviewed publication.

She is a dedicated advocate for credentialed veterinary technician utilization and actively champions the integration of highly educated technicians into collaborative, doctor-led care teams. Mandy believes that when credentialed technicians are empowered, respected, and fully utilized, hospitals achieve higher standards of patient care and improved client outcomes.

Outside of the hospital, Mandy is an avid runner and enjoys hiking and trail running with her two Border Collies, Whisper and Cannoli.

Lucy is now the Community Partnership Manager for Vet Professionals across the nation working with Hound. Within her 10 years in clinical practice, she worked in various roles, with experience in general practice, shelter, emergency, and physical rehabilitation medicine, experiencing the many faces of both corporate and private industry.

As a “burnout statistic” herself, with a huge love for the industry, Lucy has a passion for helping fellow vet professionals curate the career that they love for themselves, and helping teams support each other. Her current role as a Community Partnership Manager with Hound allows her to share and educate fellow members of the field about the benefits of employee engagement and retention, by emphasizing the importance of understanding and creating culture together.

She is also an active part of her local vet med community as Chapter Secretary of her local VMA board, and volunteers at BlendVet pathway events, helping shape the future of vet med, and SCVMA vaccine and wellness drives.

He has worked at general practices, ERs, research facilities, and specialty hospitals throughout the Central Valley, Bay Area, and Southern California. He currently works in the anesthesia department at a busy multi‑specialty teaching hospital in Los Angeles.

His professional interests include locoregional anesthesia, pre‑visit pharmaceuticals, and multi‑modal analgesia/anesthesia, and he has presented on multiple anesthesia‑related topics. Throughout his career, Charles has pushed to advance utilization, title protection, and mentoring the next generation of technicians. He is excited to serve the members of CaRVTA and advance the wellbeing of RVTs in California.

Charles lives in Los Angeles with his significant other and shares his living space with a sassy cattle dog named Bea Arthur and two cats, Bella and Moo.
