Stephen Niño Cital, MSc, RVT, SRA, RLAT, CVPP, VTS (LAM- Research Anesthesia)

President (2026–2028)

Stephen is deeply engaged in the veterinary profession, working across both specialty clinical practice and research. He holds a Master’s degree in veterinary anesthesiology and is a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Research Anesthesia, along with several additional credentials.

Patricia ZehnaRVT


Past President (2026–2028)

A lifelong animal and nature lover, Patricia became interested in veterinary medicine while volunteering at a local shelter in high school. After detours working in marketing for AT&T and as a cosmetologist, she finally started her career in veterinary medicine in 1993.


Deborah Calantropio‑Covington, MSc, RVT, RLATg, VTS (LAM‑Research Clinical Nursing)

Secretary

Deborah has been a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California since 2006, working in small animal practices and emergency clinics throughout the South Bay Area. In 2012, she began working at a research CRO in Menlo Park, launching her career in laboratory animal medicine.



Snow, RVT


Treasurer

Philip Snow is a Registered Veterinary Technician who co‑founded OC Veterinary Assistant School in 2016, where he currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Secretary. Along with management duties, he also teaches introductory and advanced classes for the school.


Eva Figueroa, RVT

Eva is an RVT in California with 14 years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine and has worked in a variety of hospitals and roles around the country. Her favorite specialties are exotics, anesthesia, and emergency medicine.



Mandy Helton, RVT, VTS (ECC)

Mandy is a Registered Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care who practices at a large specialty hospital in San Diego, California. She earned her VTS credential in 2017 and has worked in veterinary medicine since 2009.


Lucy Nash, RVT

Lucy Nash is a licensed RVT based in Southern California, obtaining her RVT license in 2016. She loves learning about the new and changing world of veterinary medicine, both inside and outside of a clinical setting.


Alison Mott, RVT

Alison Mott began her veterinary career during her senior year of high school, working as an assistant in a small animal clinic. She spent five years in small animal practice before attending Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a focus on veterinary medicine.

Charles Garoupa, RVT

Charles Garoupa is originally from Fresno, CA and has worked in the veterinary field since 2006 when he started as a kennel technician at an exotics hospital. He later attended Pierce College and obtained his RVT through the California alternate route.


Chelsea Capaccio, BS, RVT

Chelsea Capaccio, B.S., RVT, has over a decade of experience supporting patient care, clinical operations, and team development across nonprofit and private practice settings. She earned her RVT license in 2014 and is deeply committed to advancing the role of RVTs.


Cassidy Abrahamson, RVT, CWR, CVPP, CAMP, CAPM, CPEP, CVBL, CCFP, LSHC-S, EFFCP

Cassidy holds extensive experience and credentials in education, practice management, pain management, rehabilitation, integrative medicine, nutrition, behavior, and leadership. She is deeply passionate about effective utilization and evolving career pathways.
